Hello psychology students, my name is Jeremiah Mccall. I have been teaching history to high school students for the past decade, mostly at Cincinnati Country Day. Most recently, I began teaching a senior elective on historical simulation design, and the intersection of serious games and contemporary global issues.
I received my undergraduate degree in history from the University of New Hampshire, and an M.A. from Ohio State University in 2002. I continued on to receive my PhD from the Ohio State University in ancient history.
My research and passion has led me to be considered the leading expert on the use of historical simulation games in history education. I believe interactive games and simulation helps the student to grasp deep conceptual ideas, as well as critical thinking skills in all disciplines.
I have written three books so far, one which clearly explains this venture of historical simulation in the classroom. I have included the links if you are interested in reading them.
I look forward to this semester with you and the wonderful things we glean from each other as we explore the different facets of psychology's role in education.
